Just before we continue - Google updates have taken place and we got a 3. I think that is what was predicted so we are happy with that, we know many bloggers are not happy with what they got, sorry if that was you!

On To Blog Rush. John Reese’s new program that really has been a whirlwind. Few are impartial to the program with many loving and others slamming it! The new changes are very cool and show you in graphical form how much traffic you are getting, which is converting and which headlines stink etc. Here is a screenshot:

What does this tell you? For starters no one gives a toss that I went to France (Except maybe me) but also that if you talk about money in the make money niche, you get traffic!

Smart headlines are the order of the day, a skill I will need to work on… Stay tuned for a ViralUrl update (The finances!)

I am in France and loving it. Been able to go visit a business partner in a great future project and my team is in the world cup final this weekend so I can’t wait.

I was asked to write a review on TNX.NET and as today is a free day for me here in Paris, I did some digging and like what I see!

This new company entering into the competitive market of text link ad sales allows you to buy links on other webmasters websites to get google love and also traffic from those sites. Everyone knows that inbound links play a big role in the popularity and traffic of your site. Higher search engine rankings on more keywords, more links from other sites as well as technorati rank increases all aid in reasons to get inbound links from higher authority (as rated by the SERPS) websites.

The great thing about TNX is that as a webmaster, you can also sell ad spaceallowing another way to monetize your blog or website.

TNX has over 28,000 members at the time of writing this, but increasing very fast, so that stat is likely to be the thing of the past even whilst you are reading this and I am writing this. The reason for this is that not only do so many advertisers and webmasters see the power and benefit of this site, they also offer a great referral program for all members.

The company asked me to please use my referral link in this post, possibly so they can track performance but it will benefit me too and I would really appreciate it if you do decide to join, to please do so through my link:

When you refer webmasters to TNX.net, you get 13.3% (as long as your account is active) of all TNX-points that are generated by their websites. In addition, you will receive 5% of all payments, made by referred advertiser.

Referrals right now are attracting additional credits of upto 7,000 credit points, and an additional 5,000 credits for each site that is approved. So it’s a good time to join up!

The system has some very nice features, seems very easy to use and each site is manually approved ensuring high quality. With talks of google penalizing people that use competitors who are much larger and in the limelight, using this new, under the radar service could be the way to go.

If you are looking for a way to promote your blog, or to earn another source of income from your site, or both, TNX.NET could very well be the site for you.

Join Here

Disclaimer - This is a paid review, however I only accept reviews where I believe in the site and as such everything written is written in honesty.

I wrote this as I see so many posts these days from people who have tried MLM’s and making money online and simply haven’t. They then ask: “Is it possible for me to make money online”, here is my answer:

When the internet was first implemented, nobody ever thought that it would be the big thing that it is today. The internet has truly revolutionized the way that we do just about everything, from paying our bills, to shopping, and even working. Making money online is a bit taboo these days; there are so many ads out there and so-called ‘companies’ that are promising to help people get rich, if only they will shell out $14.95 for some so-called ‘training materials.’ These ads are meant to appeal to the desperate and the ambitious alike; after all, fifteen dollars is nothing when you can make that back in just a day, right?

There are a few things to consider. First of all, you should never, ever have to pay money to make money if no noticeable ‘real’ value is provided in return. Perhaps spending money on a new outfit or a better computer or something that will help you in your working endeavors, but paying for access to information that may or may not be useful in the real world—is ludicrous. If you are going to look for ways to make money online, do so in a way that is not going to cost you money up front for no benefit, money that that person offering the service should know that you probably cannot afford. Advertising is different all together, there are billions of sites and hundreds of millions of people online, advertising is required to get you eyeballs, but paying for access to a compensation plan, like many of the so called ‘mlms’ out there today is NOT the way to go.

This goes for everything—typing ads, taking surveys, writing product reviews. If you are going to do it and get paid for it, then there is no reason for you to have to pay to do it. If it sounds like it doesn’t make sense, it’s usually because it doesn’t. Use your best judgment when it comes to investigating ways to make money online, so you don’t lose out on valuable dollars of your own that you can use to put towards something else—perhaps a more worthy online money-making endeavor.

Just because there are folks that collect fifteen dollar payments in exchange for destroying a person’s dreams doesn’t mean there are no legitimate ways to make money online. If you have the time and the energy to look for opportunities, there are plenty of ways to make money online as long as you find them. Making money online is possible—but you won’t get rich overnight. Sorry, folks—nothing worth having comes quite that easily in life.

I am writing this from experience and have been there, having my dreams dashed. I have since got over this ‘get rich quick’ and now prosper promoting affiliate products and running my own sites (Like webhosting etc.)

If you have a dream of making an income online, don’t give up on it, but make sure you are not misguided and focus on the things that really matter and will really build up an income for you

The last day of September is here (Where I am in Australia it is already Monday) and I would like to give an update of the week that has just been:

I am Going To France:

I leave for France on Friday morning to get there in time to watch South Africa play in the quarter final of the Rugby World Cup. I am confident they will be going all the way to the final, so I will be there for the Semi’s and then hopefully the Final too. At $2,500 a ticket for the final, I’m hoping it turns out to be a memory I will take to the grave. (An SA win would ensure that)

Going To Amsterdam Whilst There:

I will also be meeting my business partner to put the final touches on a huge project we are working on that will be ready for Pre-Launch on November 1 and is sure to make waves, stay tuned.

Another Project launching in 30 days or less?

I am also partnering up with another well known Internet Marketer for another project that will also make a very positive impact on the Internet and Affiliate Marketing Niche, so watch for more info in the coming weeks too.

From The Blogosphere:

John Chow had his MyBlogLog avatar stolen by someone wanting to make it look like the Evil blogger was visiting their site and clicking on the link to check it out (hence stealing traffic), an evil ploy and we won’t link to who it was as we don’t want to pass on links or free traffic, and they have now stopped after John laid down the warning to them.

Here we were thinking John comes and reads our blog sometimes, maybe it was his impersonator

Music of the week:

Maybe it is the fact that I am off to France, or maybe it’s because his music rocks, here is a shout out to David Guetta, The Flavor of my week. I got his new album and love it, if you like house music with a nice beat and actual meaning to the songs, check him out!

It seems that Google are starting to unroll their monetization plans for YouTube. Google paid $1.65 Billion for YouTube under rumors that the site was making a loss of almost $500,000 per month, but of course, before Google purchased, they would have created a 3 year business plan on how to recoup their investment and then make it back many times over.

It has surfaced that it will soon be possible for publishers to use an ad-supported customized player to earn revenue from their videos. It is not yet known if all YouTube videos will come with these ads embedded at some stage and if so, will the income be split with the publisher similar to what Revver currently does.

The page with the information and a sneak peak can be seen here. What type of ads (CPC, CPV, CPM) they will contain it is not yet clear, but I am watching with interest as Google unravels another income stream.

Anyone who has a website and does any kind of marketing, their main concern is search engine optimization (SEO). Are they however, overlooking something that may be just as important as or possibly more important than SEO – Internet branding.

What is Internet branding you ask! Branding is not something just done to cattle anymore, as an Internet business person, it is important to brand yourself, or your company so that you are recognized. Designing a recognizable logo for your company is one of the first steps in branding yourself.

When Ray Kroc worked for the McDonald brothers, he had a vision. He wanted those golden arches to be known around the world. He was successful in branding not only himself but his business since the golden arches of McDonald’s are the most well known and recognizable logo in the world.

You are probably wondering how you can do the same thing Ray Kroc did with McDonalds to your online business. If you have the time, the dedication and the persistence you can succeed.

Think of Google®. Can you see those colored words in your head without having to go to their webpage? If you can, they have done their job at branding themselves. What about Yahoo!®. What comes to your mind when you think of them? For me it’s the Yahoo!® sound. Next time you are on their home page, click on the exclamation mark, if you don’t know what sound I am referring to, you will after that. These online businesses have done a great job in branding themselves. They are recognizable, which is the entire reason to brand yourself since branding isn’t just about the logo or the website itself, but it is something you think of when you think of that company.

Since both branding and SEO are both great marketing concepts, when combined together could literally take your business places you only dreamed about. There are some who will argue that SEO is more important than branding while others will argue the exact opposite. Why should you have to settle for just one form of marketing when there are clearly 2 that work? You shouldn’t, which is why both branding and SEO are equally important forms of marketing, both online and off.

As you may know, John Reese created a new blog widget called BlogRush. What blogrush does is earn you credits every time you show the widget with a block of 5 headline ads in it. Not just that but you earn credits from your referrals and so on down 10 levels! Well, It has been going for around 10 days and now seems like as good a time as any to display my stats and credits.

The credits shown per day are picking up in speed, but I am earning way more credits then are being shown each day, so my reserves are building up, a nice position to be in:

As you can see there are 780 bloggers in my network (10 level downline) and I have over 475,000 credits stored up still!

So far 40,000 impressions have been shown of my headlines (They have not been riveting headlines to be honest) and the CTR (click through rate) is sitting at just over 0.1%. That is a low CTR but in 10 days Blogrush has led to 54 clicks where my headlines have not been very interesting and many people don’t have the widget placed in the most ‘clickable’ position on their blog. As the credit showing per day increases, so too does the number of clicks. I am expecting to get over 200+ clicks a month from BlogRush based on the current trend (13 clicks today alone which is still not over) and would I suggest that it is worth having?

Hell, of course, it opens in a new window so does not take visitors away from your site, it is viral and will continue to grow on autopilot and it sends you free traffic. Maybe for large blogs that have potential real estate being taken up by the widget, more thought would be required, but on the whole, with big blogs finding space for it, even for them it must be worth it: See John Chow and ShoeMoney for examples.

Microsoft have had an advertising relationship with Facebook for a year now, but look set to want a part of the company. Reports have been speculating that Microsoft could pay between $300-500 million for a 5% stake in the social networking giant! This would then give facebook a $10 billion valuation! The funny thing is that Facebook are reportedly wanting a $15 Billion Valuation!

Not sure about your views on this, mine is that, whilst facebook is a fantastic site that would be worth a LOT of money, the internet changes so fast, tomorrow another company with more video streaming or another angle could come and captivate the crowd who use social networks and in essence do what facebook has done to myspace since they made their API open to developers.

I think that this valuation is whacked out, but that is only my view, what is yours?

This morning when searching for a good Monday Motivation I came across this story and felt that, although not directly related to making money online, it is something humbling.

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco.

“Mom and Dad, I’m coming home, but I’ve a favor to ask. I have a friend I’d like to bring home with me.”

“Sure,” they replied, “we’d love to meet him.”

“There’s something you should know the son continued, “he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mind and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us.”

“I’m sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live.”

“No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us.”

“Son,” said the father, “you don’t know what you’re asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can’t let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He’ll find a way to live on his own.”

At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide. The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn’t know, their son had only one arm and one leg.

The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don’t like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who aren’t as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are. Thankfully, there’s someone who won’t treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.

Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say a little prayer that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are, and to help us all be more understanding of those who are different from us!!!

In a busy week in the blogging world, OnPulseIM had a very quite one. The reason for that is I am still studying and had two large assignments due, as well as the fact that I went away for the weekend.

In other blogging news, John Cow has got a new design which looks wicked! He is selling some ad blocks now for $75 a month and it will go in rotation with 10 others. Price wise that will work out to $750 if you bought sole ownership of the spot. John Chow sells his for $1,500 but has 16X the RSS subscribers. Alexa also places Chow as a much more trafficked blog, even though Cow is claiming more page impressions. They use different methods of measuring though with Chow using Google Analytics and Cow using the very untrustworthy AWstats.

BlogRush Launched: John Reese launched BlogRush this week and we got the Cow under us, he got the big Beef (Chow) under him, and so we have over 298,000 credits to be used! The click through rates aren’t great, but even 200 extra visitors a month makes it more then worth being a part of, so good work John Reese.

TechCrunch have published about a cool facebook app. I use facebook, but have never installed an application, simply because if you install one, then where do you stop? (I have friends that have too many to count and their profiles are cluttered) but a good one was created that I may install. TechCrunch are calling it: Possibly The Coolest Facebook Application To Date!

Josh is no longer able to write for OnPulseIM for the moment as his current blog and of course position with unique blog designs is taking up all of his time. Over the course of the next week, we will be looking for a replacement but for this week lets take a look back at Josh’s first post on our blog, it was a good one and worth the repeat for the new members that have joined us since then:

I live in a country where our entire economy is largely supported by our ability to lend credit to people. The downside to this is that people over extend themselves by using too much credit and are never able to gain financial security or independence. However, credit can be used to help people and even make them wealthy.

Some of the wealthiest people in the US have used credit as a means to profit. Donald Trump has spoken many times about the value of using other peoples’ money to buy real estate and then profit from the sale. Without having good credit it would be nearly impossible to do so.

According to the US Federal government, the average household in the United States carries $8000 in credit card debt and sadly most of them will never be able to pay it off by just making minimum monthly payments. Hopefully none of you are in this situation.

How Can Credit Help?

In America you need credit to do almost anything. Buy a car, get a cell phone plan, buy a house, and so on. It is obvious that it is important to have good credit so that the lending agencies will lend credit to you. Also, the better credit that you have, the cheaper you can borrow it. How does this work?

The better credit score that you have the better interest rate banks and lenders will give you. They do this because the better the credit score is, the less risky the person wanting to borrow is. You would rather lend money to someone you thought was going to pay it back right?

Having good credit can save you literally hundreds of thousands of dollars throughout your lifetime. Differences in interest rates on a two hundred thousand dollar mortgage over 30 years can be huge. Add this with credit card payments and car loans and personal loans etc, it becomes easier to see how having good credit can help.

How Do Companies Decide Whether I Have Good Enough Credit?

Different companies use different metrics for measuring one’s credit. It is a combination of many things and different companies can put different weights on different financial matter. Here are a few of the most significant elements:

* Income - The amount you have claimed on your tax returns and the number of years you have claimed it (the longer the better and the more you claim the better).

* Living Situation - If you own your own home you are looked at more favorably. A home can be a very valuable asset, especially if leveraged correctly (more on that in a future post).

* Past Credit History - If you already have credit cards the credit companies will take into consideration your payment history, how many times you have been late, what your limit is on your cards, and how long the card has been established. They will also take into consideration other loans and your payment history on those. Another thing they will take into consideration is if you have ever defaulted or gone into collections for any other bills. A very common late payment or collection notice people receive is from hospitals.

* Employment - Your employment status does matter to lenders. For instance you will be viewed as more stable and less of a risk the longer you have been employed.

* Credit Score - This is an obvious one. Most companies look first at a person’s credit score.

* Credit Card Balances - Your balances on current credit cards compared to the limit on the cards, is important. To optimize credit, your balance should be as low as possible in relation to the limit.

What are Some Ways I Can Improve My Credit now?

One of the best ways to improve your credit is to first sit down with a financial professional such as a banker and have them evaluate your situation. They should be able to give you excellent advice. I will rely on my education and personal experience to explain ways to improve your credit.

The first thing I would do is obtain a copy of your credit report. This will let you know where you stand. The credit report is most likely reflecting your situation at least a couple of weeks in the past. This will give insights to what the creditors are seeing. It will also let you know if there are any bills that for some reason you haven’t paid.

I would also be conscious of the balances on your credit cards. I would make sure that the cards with the highest balances also have the highest limits. For example it is better for your credit if a card with a limit of 2000 dollars to have a balance of 200 dollars rather than a card with a limit of 400 dollars.

The next thing I would do is pay off any late bills that are outstanding. I would so this immediately. It takes a while for these to be paid off and if they went to collections there is a good chance that it will take several months for that late payment to come off of your credit report.

Another great thing to do is to sign up for a credit monitoring service. The good ones you will have to pay for, but these services are well worth the money if the can prevent a mess like identity theft.

My last piece of advice is to not cancel a credit card unless absolutely necessary. Most people after paying off a credit card call the company and cancel the card. Doing so in most cases hurts your credit.

OnPulseIM is doing a series on Article Marketing. This truly is a method to start with very little money down and build up a $5-10,000 a month business! Everything you need to know is outlined in the course. Be sure to read the prior parts first in order for it to make sense:

Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Part Four

Setting up your website:

There are two ways to go, the free way (you get a blogger blog for each niche and then set that up) or the very cheap way. The free way could be good for you to get a start, I personally prefer having my own domain for each niche and then that way, when I see a niche being profitable and showing good potential. I can work on SEO, link swapping and aiming to create an ‘AUTHORITY’ site in that niche. (This is where the big $ are). To go the free route, register at blogger and setup a blog. Be sure to include you main keyword in the title. For the cheap way, here is the best and cheapest way to go:

Register a domain name. Make sure that it contains your main keyword(s) in the title. This can be done very cheaply. Find a generic .info name and register it for a year for only 99cents using Godaddy.

You can start off by making sub domains for your Niches, or just spend 99cents per niche to grab the domain name. Find your most common, most searched keyword and use that as your .info (include it in the domain somehow)

The next step is hosting. You can get 1cent first month hosting by clicking this Hostgator link and then select the ‘baby’ package. The reason for this is baby allows you to host UNLIMITED domains!

This means for 1cent first month, you can then get $1 .info domains and setup each site to bring you maximum traffic (including rankings in the Search Engines)

Steps To get this package for 1cent:

1) Click This Link
2) Click “order now” where it says ‘shared’ top left
3) Enter your .info domain that you just registered: click next
4) Under ‘Package’ select ‘baby’ and hit continue
5) It will bring up a Coupon field, enter: hgc25
6) Hit calculate, and it should show a charge of 1cent!

Once you have paid, you will get an email with your nameservers and account info. You then set your nameservers for the domain at Godaddy to your nameservers in the email. Within 24 hours you can login to your cpanel account and it is from here that you can add more domains. For your website, you can either use an editor like FrontPage if you are not good at designing sites, or a better option is to use WordPress. WordPress is a blogging platform that allows you to setup a blog.

There are other blog platforms out there, but none that offer the flexability and
plugins/addons that wordpress offers. Wordpress is free and you can install it on your domain. It is not hard to do and here is a short 5 min video that will outline how to do it:

WordPress Install Video

In the next edition we will be looking at the key components that you MUST have on your blog and also explain how to setup an autoresponder.

Wow, John Reese, the ‘Godfather’ of Internet Marketing, has pulled off another amazing product launch, and this one is for bloggers (You and I)!

This site launched in beta less then 1 hour ago!!

I honestly can’t do the program justice with my text, so be sure to visit the site and watch the 6 min video that will show you how powerful this program is!

Visit BlogRush Now

It is free to join and in an attempt to explain what the program does, I will write what John has previously written about the program before launch:

You start by creating an account and place a small piece of code on your blog. (Like in your sidebar beneath your nav links). And here’s what will load:

This is a screenshot of what the BlogRush “widget” looks like. Each time a page loads with this widget, the widget will refresh with 5 blog post titles (along with the name of the blog or author; the user’s choice) and a link to the full post and blog. Links open in a new window so it doesn’t take a visitor away from the original blog showing the widget. These blog links will be from related blogs across the BlogRush Network. Each blog in our network gets set to a specific category that defines its content. We’re combining this with proprietary technology that we are developing to help serve relevant posts.

These additional links offer great value to a blog visitor, but the real power of the service is how it helps blogs generate more traffic…

Each time the widget gets loaded on any page of someone’s blog, they’ll have one of their latest blog post titles and a link served inside the widget on another related blog. But it goes wayyy beyond that…

See the “Add Your Blog Posts - FREE” area at the bottom of the widget? And the BlogRush tab? Well, if anyone clicks on either of those areas they will be taken to the BlogRush web site where they can learn about the free service and start hosting the widget on their site. BUT that’s not free advertising for BlogRush. Those links serve a powerful purpose…

When someone joins BlogRush, our system knows exactly WHERE they came from. The originating blog gets permanently marked in our system as the “referrer” for that new blog. And as you may have already guessed, the original blog now earns additional “syndication credit” on all the traffic that the referring blog produces — every single day. But it doesn’t stop there. If that new blog refers another user, that original blog then earns credits based on THAT new user as well. It continues through 10 “generations” of referrals with no limit to the number of blogs and/or traffic that can be produced by any level.

This ‘process’ provides incredible LEVERAGE. You can have a blog that gets just 1 visitor a week, but if that next visitor happens to be someone with a blog that gets 25,000 visits a day, and they click your widget and sign up, you’ll start having your blog posts promoted over 25,000 TIMES A DAY. And that doesn’t even count all the potential “viral growth” that can then occur from that blog referring other blogs. It’s very, very powerful.

Visit BlogRush Now

» Post Purchase: Inline Link |&nbspVideo Ad

We are all waiting on the Google Page Rank update but probably none more so then Mr. John Cow. About two months ago a parody site to the infamous blog John Chow Dot Com was created. Many if not all of my readers know about this blog, it is called: John Cow Dot Com. Chow had two supercars as headers and Cow had two blue cows. The site took off and although the traffic and income of Cow is still far behind Chow, the amazing fact is that it is well on track to actually catch up to ‘the preacher’.

Page Rank is not the be all and end all, but it does show and help dictate how much you can sell text links for and how highly the search engines rank you. So I decided to compare a 2 month old ‘cow’ blog with a year old ‘Chow’ blog and the findings are very interesting:

John Chow looks set to drop to a 5, and amazingly, a 2 month old Parody blog, John Cow, looks set to get a PR 6, making it higher then the one it is copying!

This blog purchased a link on John Cow about 6 weeks ago as we knew that the site is taking off, but wow, PR 6!

We are looking like getting a PR 4 and our domain was only registered 39 days ago, so no complaints from this end either! Good times, Good times.

If you are looking for a great deal, get in early like we did and purchase links on John Cow through Text-Link-Ads before they hike the price! Note: If you join Text Link Ads today and enter in ’starter kit’ as the coupon code, you will get $100 in free spends!

Finance news albeit boring to most, is useful, but not for the reason you might think. Finance news should be used for educational purposes to those who don’t have a firm grasp on most concepts of finance.

I see the problem stemming from the fact that people who don’t completely understand financial concepts, read some bad news and do no more research than that particular financial planner’s advice. They could very well be making a big financial mistake.

My advice to you; instead of just reading about current financial events, try to understand them. Understanding why the stock market has risen 300 points
or why interest rates need to be lowered.

If you can understand why something is happening, then you will be able to better know how to handle your money. Wouldn’t you rather completely understand your financial advisor?

I recently read an article on Yahoo Finance that explained briefly what to do to protect yourself against a market down-turn when you are close to retirement. The problem is that if you are reading the article and taking his advice without understanding it, you are already too late.

You must know how to protect yourself prior to a down-turn for this advice to be valid. It is very important to make sure your assets are diversified according to your age, as I have mentioned in previous posts, but you must know this before you are hit with a market correction.

It would be horrible to be in the position of some of the ‘boomers’ right now. They may have to work for much longer now if they did not protect themselves.

I am going to keep this post short in hopes to leave you hungry for more information. Please do yourself and your family a favor and spend the next couple of hours researching financial concepts (Yahoo Finance and MSN Money are some great sources as well as momentonmoney.com).

If you’ve been around money making circles for any length of time, chances are that you’ve heard of the law of attraction. Some people don’t give it a whole lot of credence but there are others that live their life by it and therefore it behaves a money making blog to devote at least some time to discussing exactly what it is.

According to John Chow, one of the dot com moguls of today’s world, the Law of Attraction is simply a concept that illustrates that whatever you may think about, you will bring about. It is a “like attracts like” law that states that if you can conceive of something and then believe in your own ability to get that particular something, you will definitely be able to achieve that it.

There are a number of case studies that show the effectiveness of the law of attraction, one of them having to do with a man that was chased every single day down the street to work because people knew that he was a homosexual. The law of attraction asserts that he was visualizing people picking on him and therefore that is exactly what ended up happening each day of his life. However, one day he was determined not be picked on and started to visualize himself getting to work each day with no problems. Lo and behold, that is exactly what happened! His problems with being chased as he walked to work were over through the power of the law of attraction.

This is just one of thousands of different cases where people have seen changes in their life once they learned about the law of attraction. There are people who believe in it firmly and people who don’t believe in it at all. It is up to you to make your own determinations as to what is good for you and if you want to learn more there is a ton of information available around the internet.

Note: There is a product called ‘the secret‘, it is a widely popular DVD well worth checking out. I have seen it a few times and it is good.

I was reading TechCrunch today as I always do and stumbled upon something that got me thinking. Like everything, there are two sides to a story. A company that have been around for about a year, but managed to stay under the radar is ModelHotel. They are a social networking site for good looking people only! Is this ethical, well it happens in the real world. Models have their own events and parties that us “Ugly Folk” are not welcome at.

Here is where it got me thinking, and feedback would be great, I registered a domain and was going to build a social networking site on it, purchased PHPFox script and installed it. The design is not done and I just got far to busy with my other two main projects, that it just sat there. The domain is: RichAndPopular.com

Now to the question - This site was going to be a social networking site for anyone to join, but after seeing ModelHotel… is there are market for Exclusivity. In order to join, there are two methods:

1) Popular: You need to add a picture and a writeup on your personality and interests. Existing members then vote you in. At least 10 people must vote, and if your average is higher then 7 then you get extended and invite. (Note, it is not all based on looks, but if you sound like a popular addition to the network)

2) Rich: If you are worth more then X amount, you send in proof and are then accepted, in your profile it states if you are rich, or popular. Of course, you can apply for the other type too at any time, so some will be rich & Popular (the site name and theme).

Of course, the finer details will need to be worked out, but, what is your thoughts? Is there a market for this (Valid Business Model) and if so, is it Ethical? The goal would not be to create a network of ’shallow, materialistic’ people, but rather a group of the ’same’ type of people.

Disclaimer: This is Hypothetical and most likely, no matter what the feedback, with restricted time this is unlikely to be put in motion.

[poll=2]

Instead of the normal Monday Motivation quotes, we decided to post a case study on a popular blogging figure. We all know that John Chow makes money from his business that is not related to his blog, in fact, most likely makes much more then he does from his blog, but lets look at his blog earnings for all the aspiring bloggers out there:

John Chow dot Com Makes $17,000 in August

Proving once again that perseverance and careful creation of traffic to a blog can result in heaps of income, John Chow just came out with his blog’s income report for the month of August. According to his income report post, he made over $17,000 in the month in spite of the fact that his advertising sales for Google were down due to the summer doldrums.

The largest portion of his income came from affiliate sales, with reviews and private advertising sales bringing him around the same amount combined. Text Link Ads also managed to bring him over $2,000 in income and his Kontera and Google Ad Sense numbers combined for around $1,500 worth of cash. The rest of his advertising revenue streams (four more income streams) gave him around $500 to bring the amount to over $17,000 in total.

What is the lesson to take from John Chow’s success? Well, it is the lesson that was discussed a few weeks back; you need to diversify your revenue streams if you want to make real money from one source. It is certainly possible to just have one website and make a lot of money from it, but you need to be aware of the different monetization options available to you and find a way to integrate as many of them as possible into the design of your website.

If you take a look at John Chow’s website, you would never think that he has ten different methods for monetizing his blog, simply because it looks so good in the way it is designed. Nevertheless, he does have ten different methods for monetizing his blog so even if one or two of them perform poorly, he has others to pick up the slack. Figuring out how to monetize your website in as many ways as possible is definitely the way to go and John Chow’s success is definitely proof of that.

Last night saw the opening match of the Rugby World Cup. I am South African and a big springbok supporter, my team plays on Sunday night Australian time. Last night saw France face up to the very under rated Argentina and the hosts (France) lost in front of the Paris home crowd in an ‘upset’ victory! Amazingly, of the last 6 meetings between the two, Argentina have won 5 and lost only the 1, by one point!

On the business side, Google has banned Text-Link-Ads from Their Serps, but does that mean bad news for the users of TLA? I personally don’t think so, and intend continuing to purchase links through them!

Also, once this blog gets a PR, I will most likely sell Links through TLA too. Of Course, like anything online and in our industry in particular, nothing stays the same for very long and just maybe Google do penalize blogs that sell links, but link buyers I am confident are going to continue reaping the rewards of Page Rank and Link Love for a fair while to come. What are your thoughts? Remember, TLA also use tinyurl’s now for their referral urls, making it very tough for Google to see the links.

You can get $100 free worth of Text Link Ads when you get started, and there are some big name blogs with nice PR’s that you can purchase from, so while the going is still good, why not Join Text-Link-Ads? Just enter the coupon code: “Starter Kit” to claim the bonus.
