Adsense Ads Inside YouTube Videos…
Sep 29th, 2007 by Colin Klinkert
It seems that Google are starting to unroll their monetization plans for YouTube. Google paid $1.65 Billion for YouTube under rumors that the site was making a loss of almost $500,000 per month, but of course, before Google purchased, they would have created a 3 year business plan on how to recoup their investment and then make it back many times over.
It has surfaced that it will soon be possible for publishers to use an ad-supported customized player to earn revenue from their videos. It is not yet known if all YouTube videos will come with these ads embedded at some stage and if so, will the income be split with the publisher similar to what Revver currently does.
The page with the information and a sneak peak can be seen here. What type of ads (CPC, CPV, CPM) they will contain it is not yet clear, but I am watching with interest as Google unravels another income stream.
